Courtney Swan

MS | Integrative Nutritionist

Real food activist on a mission to change America’s broken food system.

About Courtney

Food activists come from all walks of life, but there is generally one common theme among all of us: frustration with the current food system.

Courtney is an integrative nutritionist (MS) and "real foodist" on a mission to change the way America eats. She received her undergrad in communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder and completed her science prerequisites at Texas State, where she was going to pursue the Registered Dietitian track but ultimately left the program because she was concerned about the conflicts of interest regarding the association receiving funding from ultra processed food companies. She left the program at Texas State after finishing prerequisites and went on to receive her Masters of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. For more on her education you can read here.

On a mission to help people, Courtney started Realfoodology in 2011 as a way to educate people on the dirty practices of the food industry and how to eat healthy, with real food! She started the Realfoodology podcast in 2020 where she has charted in the top 10 for nutrition and health podcasts and has had over 200 guests, with names like Mark Hyman, Vani Hari (foodbabe), Dave Asprey, Dr Axe, Mark Sisson, Calley and Casey Means, Senator Ron Johnson, Dr Shanna Swan, Dr Will Cole and many more.

She doesn’t believe in diets and promotes a real food approach to eating.
