🍟 In n Out Animal Style copycat fries🍟
They’re probably my favorite fries but I don’t really eat them anymore (I’ve been known to indulge on the very rare occasion) because they’re loaded with unhealthy oils & a lot of processed foods.

I was inspired to make these when @primalkitchenfoods came out with their Thousand Island dressing (like are you kidding me?! What haven’t they thought of!)
It’s made of real food ingredients and avocado oil -no
toxic canola or soybean oil in it!

What you need to make em:
+2-3 organic white potatoes (depending on how many fries you want to make), cut into thin fry shapes
+1-2 white onions (depending on how many fries you’re making)
+@primalkitchenfoods Thousand Island Dressing
+@so_delicious cheddar cheese (it’s dairy free!)
+salt & pepper

Preheat your oven to 450. Line your baking sheet with foil and then parchment paper on top. Wash and cut your potatoes into fry like shapes. Smother in avocado oil, salt & pepper.
Bake your fries on the bottom shelf of the oven for at least 30 mins. You will have to periodically check on them and will have to gauge the time based on how crispy you want them. I ended up baking mine for about 40 mins.
Hot tip: for the last few mins put the oven on broil and put them on the top shelf to get them really crispy. But watch them like a hawk cause they can burn really fast!
While the fries are baking, chop your onions into very small pieces.
Coat a pan with a generous pour of avocado and bring to medium heat. Pour your onions in and some salt. Stir the onions on medium to high heat for a few mins to really coat them with the oil. Then bring the heat down to low and let cook for at least 20 mins. If they start sticking to the pan you can add a little water or some more oil. You can take them off whenever they turn into a really nice golden brown and all the liquid is evaporated.
You’re going to want to put your cheese on the fries right before you bring them out of the oven, the cheese melts fast so you only need to sprinkle on maybe a minute before you plan to bring the fries out.
Transfer to a plate and smother in the Thousand Island dressing and then top with your caramelized onions! Enjoy!
